Mahindra eyes selling 120,000 Ssangyong cars across the globe

One of India's biggest automobile company Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd is targeting the sales of approximately 120,000 South Korean SsangYong cars globally this year.  Mahindra and Mahindra president, automotive and farm equipment sectors, Pawan Goenka said that about 55 percent of SsangYong cars will be sold outside South Korea however the remaining sales are targeted to inhouse market of South Korea.

In February 2011, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd has acquired the possession of South Korean automobile manufacturer SsangYong Motor. President Pawan Goenka also said that company is planning to launch five new cars in India this year. He said that they will be launching one SUV ( Sport Utility Vehicle) and one electric car . He also declared that there is a possibility of raising car prices in order to minimize pressure on profit margin.

President Pawan Goenka said that macroeconomic factors may lead to retardation of Industry Growth as compared to last year. However Automotive and tractor sector may show a growth rate of 15 percent and 12 percent respectively.

Mahindra Rexton is an SUV with a Diesel Turbo F/INJ engine with a capacity of 2696 cc and DT5 cylinders, Dual Overhead Cam valve gear. SsangYong Rexton is expected to give a tough competition to other cars such as Mitsubishi Pajero, Outlander, Ford Endeavour,Honda CR-V etc. Mahindra Rexton cars are expected to be priced above Rs. 1500000.
