Maruti Ertiga Facelift is all set to launch tomorrow, as a result of its postponed initial launch of October 10th. The car has managed to attract considerable interest, as it has been quite a while, since it was first showcased at the Indonesian Auto Expo. The car will flaunt a completely redesigned front end, which will feature an overdose of chrome and a slit chrome-grill. Ertiga facelift will also come with a redesigned front bumper, new set of alloys and new rear bumper layout. The interiors might get additional creature comforts, courtesy of Maruti’s SmartPlay infotainment system, a push start/stop button and new upholstery.
Under the hood, Ertiga will continue to feature the same set of 1.3 liter DDiS200 diesel and 1.4 litre petrol power-plants, which produce 88.8bhp/200Nm of torque and 93.7bhp/130Nm of torque, respectively. The diesel mill will also feature company’s SHVS mild hybrid system, which will help enhance the car’s fuel-efficiency. The Ertiga facelift is also expected to feature an option of a new CVT automatic transmission. As the SHVS mild-hybrid technology remains exclusive to diesel powerplants, the mileage stats of petrol engine are expected to remain unchanged at 16.02 kmpl.
The car will rival the likes of Toyota Innova, Honda Mobilio and Renault Lodgy. Ertiga will be the first MPV to offer the option of an automatic transmission in the country, which might help it take on the competition better.
