Maruti India targets to double its sales network by 2015

Maruti Suzuki India, the No. 1 car maker of India inaugurated its 1000th showroom called `Comet Motors’ in Surat (Gujarat) today. Maruti India announced on the occasion that it will target to double its sales network in next five years, in line with the company’s sales plan. The car maker is trying to reach out to more and more customers in 2-tier and 3-tier cities so as to attract more and more middle class families. Maruti Suzuki has dedicated its 1000th sales outlet to its valued customers.

The 1000th showroom was inaugurated by Shinzo Nakanishi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, in the presence of, Mayank Pareek, Managing Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki and Jignesh Mehta, CEO, Comet Motors. Nakanishi expressed his happiness in dedicating the showroom to Maruti’s customers. According to him, the 1000th outlet was an important milestone for the company and for the Indian Automobile industry. About his future expansion plans he said that network expansion is strategic to the business and Maruti would continue to focus on it.

This move reflects the company’s philosophy of spreading the countrywide network maintaining the customers’ support. 1000th showroom does not only signify a number but it reaffirms Maruti’s faith in the India growth story. It demonstrates Maruti’s efforts and endeavours to reach out customers. The company has also undertaken a unique initiative called `Nav Nirman’. Under this project, Maruti provides its customers uniform buying experience across the country. Maruti upgrades its three year old showrooms in Nav Nirman to enhance the customer experience. Maruti Suzuki will also start up a new facility in Gujarat which will serve as the export hub for Suzuki cars. However, Maruti India has suffered huge production loss lately due to the worker’s protest at its Manesar facility. Its star hatchback has crossed the mark of 1 lakh in the wait list with dealers all over India.
