The Maruti Invicto is all set to enter the three-row premium MPV segment in India. Maruti has already opened its order books for the premium MPV, for a token amount of Rs 25,000. Here is a quick overview of what all we can expect from the Maruti MPV.
Looks A Lot Like The Hycross
Another product from the global partnership, the Invicto is based on the Toyota Innova Hycross. Based on the spy shots and teasers, the Maruti will have a close resemblance to the Toyota MPV but with small design changes to the front and rear. Maruti has already shown the split chrome grille on the front of the Invicto in an official teaser.
On the inside too, the Invicto will have an identical dashboard layout as the Toyota MPV, but it will feature a different dark shade upholstery, unlike the brown upholstery in the Hycross.

Plenty Of Premium Features
Same as the Hycross, the Invicto too will have an extensive list of features, with many of them being a first for Maruti. It will sport amenities such as a panoramic sunroof, digital driver’s display, dual-zone AC, ventilated front seats and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment. The safety will be ensured by six airbags, a 360-degree camera setup, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features such as lane-keep and departure assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto-emergency braking.
New Strong-Hybrid Powertrain
The first strong-hybrid powertrain from Maruti was introduced in the Grand Vitara. The Invicto is also expected to get the Hycross’s strong-hybrid powertrain which uses a new 2-litre petrol engine not seen in the Maruti lineup before. This Toyota petrol-hybrid has a combined output of 186PS and 206Nm, and is mated to an e-CVT automatic transmission.
Expected Price & Rivals
As the Maruti Invicto will likely be offered in a single fully loaded trim at launch, it could be priced at around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will directly rival the Toyota Innova Hycross, while being a premium alternative to the Kia Carens.
