Maruti Swift Dzire compact sedan will be launched soon after the 11th Indian Auto Expo in January, according to the rumour. February is the month when the Maruti Swift Dzire fans can see the shrunken version of the sedan. The Maruti Swift Dzire has always been based on the Swift hatchback and same is what we are going to see on the 2012 Swift Dzire CS. Since Swift was recently introduced on a new platform, it becomes mandatory now for Swift Dzire to acquire the new Swift platform.

It’s more or less the same frontal look of new Maruti Swift we will get to see in the new sedan as well. The same changes along the headlamp design with the elongated look replacing smaller headlamps and the refined look of the grille. The interiors of the car will be refurbished to look more upmarket than ever before. Swift Dzire sedan just like the Maruti Swift hatchback has been one of the biggest heart-throb in the car industry ever since its launch in 2008. The compact sedan has garnered the success almost in par with the Swift hatchback. The only drawback in the car which is otherwise perfect in all other respects is its rather tight interior space which could be partially because of the sedan being less than four meter in length.

However, the new Swift Dzire is expected to lay off the only handicap just like the new Maruti Swift, squeezing out some excess space in the interiors. However, no changes in the engine department are reported except for maybe the 1.2 L petrol engine and the 1.3 L Fiat diesel engine will be tweaked a little for the better performance. Maruti India might introduce the Variable Valve technology for the petrol engine to offer better performance and fuel efficiency as well. A slight decline in the new Maruti Swift Dzire CS price can be expected as excess excise duty will be saved by the car maker.
