Maruti Suzuki has announced a price hike for its entire lineup to come into effect in the third quarter of 2021 (July-September). The details of the hike are yet to be revealed and should be out in the coming weeks. The price increase is expected to vary for different models.
The carmaker has quoted the increase in various input costs over the past year, as the reason for the price hike. This is Maruti’s third price hike experienced in 2021, following the hikes in January where it was increased by upto Rs 34,000, and by one to six percent in April.
Currently, Maruti has fourteen cars in its lineup (including the Nexa range): Eeco, Alto 800, S-Presso, Wagon R, Celerio, Swift, Dzire, Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross. It recently announced discounts and offers worth up to Rs 51,000 for Maruti Arena cars, and savings of upto Rs 41,000 for the Nexa models.
Based on the recently leaked design patents, we know the Celerio is due for a generational update. Besides, the manufacturer is also gearing up for the India launch of the five-door Jimny in early 2022.
