Maruti Suzuki registers growth of 26.8 per cent in the Second Quarter

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd a trusted brand in the country has proved it again. As soon as the news came that Maruti Suzuki India has won the first position in the consumer satisfaction, Maruti Suzuki announced its second quarter sales which has raised to 26.8 per cent which is a reciprocating the consumers verdict.
The company released its the financial statements and registered Net Sales (net of excise) of Rs 89,371 million during the second quarter of 2010-11. The growth of 26.8 per cent was seen when compared to the last year's growth. With the rising sales graph, the company has already grown up to 11 per cent in the first three quarters this year. After calculating the Net Profit of 2010-11 in the second quarter, the profit jumped high by 5 per cent accounting to Rs 5,982 against the previous year.
From July-September 2010, the Indian Auto industry has seen higher growth. Maruti Suzuki India had sky rocketing growth in the Indian car market. The company had a record sale of 2,66,936 cars in the first quarter against the last year's same period with a 32.9 per cent hike.
The company launched newer versions of its bestsellers Maruti Alto K10, CNG models Matuti Alto and also came with Maruti A-star the automatic variant. The growth the company showed is remarkable in the Indian Market with 30 per cent in the A2 segment and 29.2 per cent in the A3 segment against the last year sales from July to September. Maruti Suzulki saw a hike in the C segment with models Maruti Omni and Maruti Eeco and thus recorded a growth of 87.4 per cent. In just the first quarter the dealership spread from 802 last year to 860 outlets, covering as many as 598 cities which was 555 cities last year. The service workshops saw a growth of 2,819 in 1,354 cities in first quarter which was 2,740 in 1335 cities.
One of the biggest players in the market with the ever increasing demand has extensive expansion plans. It is heard that, Maruti Suzuki is coming with a joint venture with the Volkswagen group in 2011. They will together design vehicles and are also planning few other projects under the venture. Other than the joint ventures brewing between the auto giants, Maruti Suzuki India is planning to bring in the advance diesel engine technology in India from the German auto manufacturer.
