Maruti Suzuki sales in April 2011

The Indian Car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced that it has witnessed an overall sales growth of 4.4 percent in April 2011 and has sold over 97,155 units (including exports) compared to April 2010. Two of Maruti's A3 segment cars- Maruti SX4 and Maruti Dzire witnessed highest sales growth of 39.1 percent (13,899 units) followed by C Segment Van type Maruti Omni and Maruti Ecco that also mounted to an increase of 22 percent in April 2011 beating sales of only 9,994 units in April 2010.

An overall positive growth is observable in almost every segment except the MUV (Maruti Gypsy and Maruti Grand Vitara) that faced a downturn of -69.5 percent compared to sales in April 2010. Similarly, Maruti's export sales also took a slip and went down to -23 percent compared to the export sales in April 2010. However, domestic sales were up by a reasonable 8.9 percent in April this year compared to April 2010.

As per official confirmation by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Maruti Kizashi, launched in February also got a warm welcome among the Indian car lovers and over 35 units were sold in April 2011 alone. Speaking of passenger cars that witnessed highest unit sales in April 2011 then repeating the trend, A2 segment cars by Maruti including Maruti Alto, Wagon-R, Estilo, Swift, A-Star, and Maruti Ritz scored were sold the most (over 57443 units).
