Maruti Suzuki up for another plant?

The Indian car industry is on a success ride and the one who is enjoying it the most is Maruti Suzuki India by acquiring almost 50 per cent in the Passenger car segment. It is being known that the Indian auto company is planning to set up another facility in Manesar. The Indian auto biggies speculate to sell 30 lakh unit by 2015-16.

As per a close source the Indian auto giant has begun the hunt for establishing its 7th unit however the final node will be given by the next year. With an investment Rs 3,625 crore Maruti is establishing two new plant in its Manesar facility. Presently, the plant produces 3.5 lakh cars yearly. As per the reports floating in the new unit can be in Manesar however these decisions will depend once the two facility starts off.

R C Bhargava, the Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) states that it is expected by 2015-16 the passenger car market will scroll upto 5 million cars. Maruti is keen on maintaining its market share in India. The Indian auto company is expected to roll out 2.5 million to 3 million in that share. However, Mr Bhargava refused to comment on the new plant. The company is happy with the new facility soon to start however it will greatly depend on the production, as later the decision on any new facility will be taken.

At present the Indian auto giant is doing a great job by capturing almost half of the passenger car segment in India with impressive cars like Maruti Alto, Maruti Ritz, Maruti A-Star, Maruti Swift, Maruti Wagon R. Also it recently introduced, its most expensive car Maruti Kizashi which is receiving a great welcome from the Indian car aficionados.
