Maruti to launch new Maruti Wagon R by March next year

Maruti Suzuki the largest car manufacturer in India is planning to launch an updated model of Maruti Wagon R by March next year. The New Wagon R model will be compatible to the new emission norms named as BS-IV. Currently the Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has 50% market share in India and to maintain this market share the company is upgrading its old and popular models like Maruti Alto and Maruti Wagon R. The latest models of Maruti Suzuki in India, Maruti Ritz and Maruti A-Star are already coming with new generation K-Series engine which is compatible with the new BS-IV emission norms. The new Wagon R model will also be available with a CNG kit option.

Besides the engine the new Maruti Wagon R model is also expected to come with a new look as well as good interior design though there is no confirmation form the company's side on this regard. It is also expected that the fully loaded model of the new Wagon R  will be coming with airbag and ABS options. New exteriors include complete new front facia as well as new head lamps and tail lamps. An MSIL spokesperson has earlier stated, “We have exhausted our quota of new cars with eight new launches in India in the past three years. Now we are looking at strengthening our leadership by refreshing our old portfolio.
