From a long time a hollowness was felt in the domestic market between the trained professionals and growing demand in the auto sector.
But now, Maruti Suzuki India, a well known car brand, has taken an enormous step in this direction. The company wishes to appoint 800-900 talented people, in another 18 to 20 months through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). The massive recruitment is to add on the sufficient manpower to keep up with the growing market in view of which the company will take up 36 new ITIs in this financial year.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki India, did a mammoth investment of Rs 1,925 crore with capex plans to build its third state of the art facility in Manesar, Gurgaon. By 2013, the new plant is expected to have a capacity to produce 17.5 lacs cars and to fulfil the requirement affixed, major human resource would be required.
SY Siddiqui, managing executive officer, Maruti Suzuki, told that, the company wishes to add more than 4,000 trained human resource in the manufacturing territory across the country. Out of the total, 1,600 will be employed in the automobile sector.
Maruti, presently has 17 ITIs operating in India, which is company's step to build up trained professionals for the automotive sector across country. Till now, the company has taken more than 500 professionals in the service network. The new ITIs are speculated to be launched in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Rajasthan and Kerala.
