Maruti to revamp Ritz and A Star, launch expected in 2012

Maruti Suzuki India has planned to revamp two of its models Maruti Ritz and Maruti A-Star. After the makeover of its premium hatchback Maruti Swift , Maruti Suzuki India will now give a facelift to these two cars by next year. Maruti Suzuki India recently asserted that it is going to launch 20 new models in Indian market in next 4 to 5 years.

Continuing the tradition of giving a new look to its cars once they complete three years, the new Maruti Ritz is all set to be launched in Indian car market. The frugal hatchback Ritz which is also known as Maruti Splash in Eupropean and other export markets presently, holds a problem with its gloomy interiors. The high performance Ritz sometimes even outcompetes Maruti Swift when it comes to space but styling and interiors are some aspects where the car is far from being perfect. Absence of power windows even on driver's seat, central locking, tubeless tyres, back seat pocket, seat under tray, fog lamps etc are some of the features missing in its LXI model that limits the sale of the hatchback compared to its competitors like Chevrolet Beat or Fiat Punto. But the value for money cars offered by Maruti Suzuki India has not led the customer to neglect the plus points of Maruti Ritz. This has led the company to rethink about its interiors in New Maruti Ritz.

The other less performing car which is ready for revival is Maruti A-Star. The new Maruti A-Star will work upon its marketing strategies and target small families and newly married couples as they do not hold much concern with space constraints in rear seat. The 3 year old A-Star is on a slowdown as the sales are continuously falling and immediate attention is needed for revamping the car. So a cut-throat competition is expected to be seen next year with Maruti rolling out new cars, facelifts and makeovers.
