Maruti's most sales depended on Dzire and Swift: MSI

Dzire and Swift car models were proved to be th hero of Maruti Suzuki India (MSI). Both the car contributed to the major part of the company sales. On the other hand, other models remained dull through the last fiscal. Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi said that the company only depended on Dzire and Swift to power the company's growth. Although MSI got good sales number but it was not good and uniform region wise and model-wise. The major concern was the quality of growth. Mr Nakanishi expressed fear about the low performance of other models. He added that the company is to plan on other models sells as well as  without improvement in those areas, MSI might be able to grow for one or two years, but we will face a problem in the long term. Last fiscal, the company recorded a rise of 3.57 per cent in its sales at 7,92,167 units compared with 7,64,842 units in the previous fiscal. In April, 2009, MSI sold 71,748 units as against 62,336 units in the year-ago period, a growth of 15.10 per cent.
