Mercedes Benz appoints Synfera to establish paint shop in company's unit in Pune

Synfera Engineering and Construction, infrastructure solution provider revealed today (08 Jan, 2011) that the company has signed a deal with the luxury car maker Mercedes Benz for establishing the largest paint shop facility in India at the company's Chakan unit in Pune.
Sanjeev Nakhasi, the Vice President of Synfera Engineering and Construction confirmed that the company has signed an agreement to manufacture the largest paint shop for the premium car maker Mercedes-Benz in its Chakan unit in Pune. He also stated that it will be the biggest paint unit in India. He mentioned that before this deal, Synfera has been in contract with the luxury car maker Mercedes- Benz for establishing the city bus manufacturing unit.
Mercesdes- Benz plans to invest nearly Rs 700 crore for the auto mobile paint shop. The German car maker is establishing a bus body manufacturing unit in the company's Chakan facility which has a annual manufacturing capacity of almost 700-900 units.
Nakhasi also said that the auto mobile paint shop is speculated to start in the coming one and a half years time.
Synfera E and C, part of the Tanti group firm has three SEZ's wide spread across Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka states which combines land of more than 1,400 acres. He also said that the capex side of the company's SEZ accounts to $200 million. As in when the exports started the company's three SEZs altogether totals and has accelerated to $ 1 billion standard.
Nakhasi also said that in the last quarter of 2010, two all new units Presang OM Metals and Banco Products have been added to the Vadodara Hi-tech engineering SEZ. He revealed that in the coming first half the company expects to sign some more agreement for Vadodara SEZ. The company is expected to add an investment of another USD 400 million in SEZ. Though Mr Nakhasi did not disclose the prospective names of the firms to establish the facilities at Vadodara SEZ.
It is being learnt that in Gujarat expansion the E and C industry plans to cater to the projects such as making the industrial parks spread in more than 1,500 acres at Dholera in Gujarat in collaboration with the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
Mr Nakhasi also revealed that the company is also in talks with state and central government agencies for manufacturing the industrial infrastructure parks spread in more than 1,500 acre with DMIC.
