Mercedes Benz India To Launch B Class Facelift Tomorrow

Unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Mercedes Benz India is driving-in the facelifted B Class tomorrow in the country. It is the third launch of 2015 by the German automaker after the diesel version of the new C Class this year. Moreover, like before it will be brought as CBU but in a report earlier Mercedes Benz India has invested to expand its Chakan, Pune facility for local assembly of its new line of compact vehicles - A, B, GLA and CLA Class.
Speaking of the new 2015 B Class, it is now more in-line with the company’s current line-up adopting Merc’s new design language. It gets redesigned front and rear bumper, LED headlamps with integrated daytime-running LEDs along with LED tailamps, new alloy design and a bold front grille. On the inside, it now flaunts ambient lighting with a choice of 12 colors and a new 8-inch touchscreen along with carbon fiber finishes, metal inserts and upholstery.
Mechanically, facelifted model will carry forward the current powertrains of the out-going version. The 1.6-litre petrol variant - B180 generates 120 bhp and 200 Nm of max torque. The 2.1-litre diesel variant - B200 CDI variant musters 107 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. As in its predecessor, both the engines transfer power to the front wheels through a 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
