#FIRST2EXPO- WITH THE BIGGEST MEDIA CREW ON THE GROUND, CARDEKHO BRINGS TO YOU THE MOST EXTENSIVE COVERAGE OF AUTO EXPO 2016.
The ongoing Auto Expo has yet again presented another crackerjack to the Indian car enthusiasts, namely the S-Class Cabriolet from Mercedes-Benz. S-Class is the first 4-seater open-top luxury vehicle, which has been up for display in the Mercedes lineup - at the carnival. Falling in the range of high end products, the luxurious Cabriolet is grabbing many an eyeballs here, though, it is already up for sale in the overseas markets.
Mechanically, the S500 is powered by a 4.7-litre mill that is a 4663cc V8 configuration borrowed from the S-Class Coupe. The engine delivers 453bhp of maximum output between 5250-5500rpm and produces a hefty torque rated at 700Nm.
The three-layer soft-top architecture of the vehicle is very convenient and easy to operate. It can be lowered within 20 seconds at the speed of 60kmph. Now that is quick! NVH insulation, on the other hand, becomes impressive at the moment when the car is driven top down.
The S-Class convertible was rolled out in the early 70s and the new S-Class Cabriolet work towards honouring this legendary vehicle. Mercedes stable has also showcased the Mercedes AMG F1 W06 Hybrid (the FIA World Championship Winning F1), a highly customised Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard and GLC SUV at the event, besides the S-Class Cabriolet.
After receiving 32% growth by selling 13,502 units in 2015, Mercedes plans on launching 12 new vehicles during the ongoing year, in order to maintain the number one position in domestic market.
