Following the release of the first image of Mercedes G500 4x4², the manufacturer has revealed new details about the same. The big brat is a chopped down version of G63 AMG 6x6, a limited production vehicle whose approximately 100 units are commissioned and retailed by now.
This extreme concept G500 4x4² gets AMG's front and rear bumper, LED lighting strip mounted at frontal roof, carbon fiber fender flares. To tackle rough terrain, its underbody is fitted with stainless steel guards, signature exhaust tips pooping out from side-before the rear wheel arches and 22-inch wheels with off-road tyres.
Highlighting the rich heritage of G-Class, this new offering carry forwards the ethics of the earlier car on the exterior front and its underpinnings. Hence, its body on ladder-frame chassis has been made especially for off-roading, that need not require any reinforcements. Though no insight is provided on the interior, a word from the makers indicate that they will provide saloon like comfort.
Besides, when it comes to the G-Class, Merc have always ensured that enthusiast never get out-horse-powered and G500 4x4² too gets enough of them, 422 bhp precisely. These come from a latest 4.0 litre V8 direct injection biturbo motor that is lighter and more efficient than the current V8s. Moreover, the adjustable damper with dual spring adds to its versatility over a wide range of driving situation.
List doesn’t end here, the wild specification of this beast include monster-truck-ish ground clearance of 450mm, insane approach / departure angle of 52 / 54 (f/r) and 30 degree tipping angle. Apart from this, its water wading depth of 1000mm will put many river streams to shame.
