The German auto giant Mercedes has set a benchmark in the luxury car segment not only in India but across the globe. It has carved a niche for itself, a place where no other car maker can reach easily. Flaunting luxury, class and style Mercedes' cars make heads turn, it is an envy of most of the people. Rumor has it that the luxury auto giant is contemplating to introduce latest and new engines for the Mercedes S-Class range. If the rumors are to be believed, the Mercedes S-Class range of cars will now come with many engine options. Entry level cars will be done by the S3000L which is powered by the 2996cc engine, thee engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 228bhp. The particular car is expected to cost around Rs. 70 lakh. With the updated technology, Mercedes is expecting to sell more number of Mercedes S Class units in Indian automobile market.

The current Mercedes S350L whose production has been discontinued is supposed to be replaced by the new S300L version. The Mercedes S300L is sure to give a tough competition to its arch rival BMW 7-series and Audi A8, which comes in the same price range.

Mercedes is also going to affix the Mercedes S-class with the latest technology of direct injection V6. The S350l CGI version of the car will also be included which is going to use this direct injection technique. Using this technology, the engine of the car will be able to produce a heavy power of 302bhp.

The petrol line up of the Mercedes will be fulfilled by the S500L CGI whose maximum power generating capacity is 429BHp. Mercedes claims to provide better service through these cars. Last year only 11331 units of Mercedes S-Class were sold, which is expected to increase this year. With the latest varieties of engines and technologies, Mercedes eyes at increasing the sales of Mercedes S-class up to 40%.
