Adding to its C-Class coupe lineup German luxury automaker, Mercedes-Benz, has unveiled its AMG C43 Coupe. This is Merc’s second addition to both of its coupe and 6-cylinder AMG model lineups. The luxury automaker will be introducing its range of 6-cylinder models later this year and the AMG C43 Coupe will make its debut along with the C-Class Cabriolet at the upcoming 2016 Geneva International Motor Show, which will be held next week. The car will rival the likes of Audi’s next generation RS5 and BMW’s M4 sportscar.
AMG C43 will feature Merc’s 4Matic all wheel drive system. C43 also incorporates Merc’s all new nine-speed automatic transmission, making the move from the company’s AMG Speedshift seven-speed automatic gearbox, which is found in the C63 AMG. The gearbox will come mated to a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, which is capable of producing 362bhp of power and around 520Nm of torque.
Commenting on AMG C63, Mr. Tobias Moers, chairman of Mercedes AMG said, “The extension of the C-class family to include the C 43 4Matic Coupe is another component in our growth strategy. It starts the introduction of a whole series of new 43 models"
The company claims that the AMG C63 Coupe can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in around 4.7seconds, which is only 0.7 seconds slower as compared to the acceleration time of C63 AMG coupe. The top speed of both the cars has been limited to 250kmph.
