Mercedes-Benz celebrates 125th anniversary of the first automobile

Mercedes-Benz is rejoicing the 125th birth anniversary of the very first automobile of the world. This history was created by Carl Benz 125 years ago as he filed for “Vehicle with gas engine drive” under 37435 Patent number at the Berlin Patent Office and this laid the foundation stone for the first auto mobile across globe. The company was together to celebrate the glorifying event and it was graced with the presence of its Board of Management.

Mr. Peter T Honegg, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India elated at the event said that Mercedes-Benz the automotive inventor has helped in shaping a historic change. The company holds pride with this fact. He further added with immense pleasure that as many as 80 per cent of the patents comes from Mercedes-Benz stable. He said that the company holds the credit for being the inventor of the four wheeler and is sure to bring better and advanced technologies for future such as brands, greener technologies and various business opportunities.

Mr. Honegg with pride and delight also stated that Mercedes-Benz has always believed in 'Best or nothing'. This motto of the auto company has always helped in delivering the best to the buyers with safety, technology, innovations, comfort, luxury and also buyers satisfaction. He later said that the auto company has focused on the same till now and will continue with the same object for the next 125 years.

In India, Mercedes-Benz the first luxury car manufacturer entered the domestic auto market in 1995. Since then, the German marvel auto maker has been setting milestones. Currently the luxury carmaker has 40 cars across 12 models, 58 dealerships in as many as 27 cities in India. The company also owns a facility in Chakan near by Pune with an investment of Rs 600 crores and is well known as the best CKD unit across world.

2010 ended as a fantastic year for Mercedes-Benz by introducing 24 new cars and also ended the year with an accelerating sales figure of 80 per cent for 2010 calendar year over the same time for 2009.

The Indian auto market is the second fastest growing automobile market as the countries economy is climbing the ladders swiftly. The Indians are graduating to a global lifestyle well matched with the offering of Mercedes-Benz.

The auto company is working towards giving world class products, high value to its buyers including sales and service network. The company is also looking forward to enter the II and III towns and is also planning array of launches for this growing Indian auto market.
