Mercedes-Benz has begun the production of the GL-Class in India. The Chakan plant of Mercedes-Benz India is the company's second plant in the world to make the GL. The other plant is the Tuscaloosa, USA.
The GL-Class now costs Rs 72.58lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune). The GL-class comes packed with features such as temperature controlled cup holders, active park assist and active cross wind assist. There is also an inbuilt terrain response system that helps the vehicle in off-road situations. The power is delivered to all four wheels with the help of Mercedes-Benz 4matic all-wheel drive system. The suspension can be raised.
The GL-Class can seat 7 people and has a boot space of 680 litres with all the rows upright. The third row of seats are electrically foldable too.
