Debabhis Mitra, Sales Director of Mercedes-Benz India said, that, the company has sold 4,221 luxury cars from January till September in 2010. At the launch in Kolkata of 'Proven Exclusivity' the pre owned car business brand, he happily added that, it is quite likely that the company may register sale of 5,000 units or more by the year end.

Mercedes-Benz India is optimistic to sell more than 5,000 luxury cars by 2010. The news was revealed by the company sources in India.

Mercedes-Benz India, in 2009 sold 3,200 cars which was 400 units less than it sold in 2008. The company has very well evaluated the market conditions and has said that the demand in the luxury segment has gone up to 80 per cent in the market.

Mr. Debabhis Mitra, also said, that, the luxury cars sold within the year may touch the mark of 13,000. While talking about the company plans, Mr. Mitra did not comment on status of the replacement of the Wilfried Aulbur, the relieving Managing Director and CEO. As per the sources, the company will soon announce the new executive.

Throwing light on the pre owned car market, he said that around 400 used cars have been sold in four cities. In these cities, the pre owned car concept was inaugurated in May under the 'Proven Exclusivity' concept.

Continuing to reveal the plans, Mr Mitra said that, the company expects to sell 500 used car this year. As per the company calculations, the luxury car band are predicting that the used car business will increase to 10 per cent against the brand new luxury car business. It may shoot up to 15 per cent in the coming one or two years.

Mercedes-Benz has always been a loved and appreciated car in India. Under the proven exclusivity service, the dealers who sell the used luxury brand are very cautious. The dealers do not accept the used luxury car to be more than six years old or to have crossed 60,000 miles. The dealers are getting heavy booking of the used luxury cars. These cars are in demand for the reason that the price is usually less and the delivery of the car is on the spot. This festive month has seen a hike in the sale of the used premium car.
