After slashing MG Hector and MG Hector Plus prices by up to Rs 1.37 lakh towards the end of September 2023, the automaker is now planning to raise the prices of these SUVs starting from November 1st. According to reports, the price reductions were introduced as part of the brand's 100th anniversary celebrations just ahead of the ongoing festive season.
Price Hike Details Pending
While MG hasn't officially disclosed the extent of the price increase for these SUVs, both the MG Hector and MG Hector Plus may return to their original prices, or there could be a slight increase on top. The diesel variants of these SUVs are expected to experience the most significant price jump, as they received the most substantial price cuts.
Common Features On Offer
Both MG Hector (5-seater SUV) and MG Hector Plus (3-row SUV) come equipped with a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 7-inch fully-digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger and a powered tailgate.
The passenger safety is taken care of by up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) functionalities like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and auto emergency braking.

Powertrains On Offer
The Hector and Hector Plus comes with two engine options, which include a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (143PS/250Nm) and a 2-litre diesel unit (170PS/350Nm). Both petrol and diesel units are being offered with 6-speed manual transmission, but the former also comes with an optional CVT automatic gearbox.

Current Price Range & Rivals
For the remainder of October 2023, the prices for the MG Hector range from Rs 14.73 lakh to Rs 21.73 lakh, while the MG Hector Plus is priced between Rs 17.50 lakh and Rs 22.43 lakh. The Hector rivals the Tata Harrier, 5-seater variants of the Mahindra XUV700, and top variants of the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, while the Hector Plus takes on the Tata Safari, 7-seater variants of the Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai Alcazar.
