Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X to launch by June end

With Hindustan Motors flagship model Ambassador struggling for some sales, the Car major has something to look forward to. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, popularly known as Evo X, is ready to be launched by June-end, the bookings for which has already started. This niche sports car has always been the fantasy of sport enthusiasts especially since it was first featured in Fast and Furious.

HM has made a technical collaboration with Mitsubishi and would launch the vehicle in partnership. With Ambassador being the most famous and widely used Indian car at some point, Hindustan Motor was surely looking for a contemporary brand repositioning that it is expecting to attain with the launch of Evo X.

The top officials  from the company were seen quoting that they are not expecting some huge numbers to flow out for the model, but something around 50 to 60 cars per year would be fine. Mitsubishi Evolution X is going to be a  four door, five seater model that would be powered by a two-litre, 280bhp, 16 valve, four cylinder petrol engine. The car would be brought in as a completely built-in unit and is expected to be priced at Rs 40 lakh, pegged against the likes of Nissan 370Z, the BMW Z4.

With all new variants lined up for launches, HM is not side-stepping its Ambassador, the car for masses. Ambassador is also expected to get a face-left. The recent sales of Ambassador has sliced down but with this technical collaboration and a flurry of new entrants, Hindustan Motors certainly has something to look forward to.
