Narain Karthikeyan is the first and the only contestant from India to take part in the Indian Grand Prix F1 race to be held from October 28th-30th. The Hispania Racing Team (HRT) has recently announced that Vitantonio Liuzzi will give up his seat for Narain Karthikeyan to vacate the slot for the latter to perform in front of the home crowd at Indian F1. Narain Karthikeyan had taken part in 8 Grand Prix races from HRT in 2011 before Daniel Riccardo had replaced him by bringing more funds for the Spanish team.
Though the 34-year old contestant had a confirmed position in the race, there were speculations about whose position he was about to take. However, the latest reports confirm that Narain Karthikeyan will participate in the F1 race along with Riccardo from HRT dropping Liuzzi in the process. The Indian contestant had been given an extensive training to gear him up for the upcoming F1 race to be held at Buddh International circuit.
The two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Motor Corp and Narain Karthikeyan had struck a deal with HRT in the month of September without disclosing the financial terms. On the other hand, Karthikeyan is overwhelmed to put up the show in from of the overzealous Indian crowd. Though car racing is not a popular sport in India, the Grand Prix name has its own place in the country.
