NDTV Car and Bike Awards 2011 to be held tomorrow

Time has come to welcome the 6th edition of famous NDTV car and Bike awards which recognises commendable work done in the field of country's automobile industry. The award ceremony will include 22 different categories which is built to pick up the best automobile from the industry. The award ceremony is to be more special for the organisers as this is the first time NDTV is conducting it independently. The occasion is scheduled on 19th Jan 2011 at Taj Lands End Mumbai.

Among the top categories comes the Car of the Year 2011, Automotive Man of the Year and last but not the least Car Manufacturer of the Year. The award ceremony will be graced by many prominent personalities like Anjana Beniwal, Automobile Enthusiasts,Kamlesh Patel, Former Rallyist, Gul Panag, Actor, Biker, Automobile Enthusiast,Armaan Ebrahim, Racer and Dr V Sumantran, Hinduja Group.

Addressing the auspicious occasion, Me. Siddharth Vinayak Patankar who is the Editor-Auto in NDTV said that the awards are one of the top honours in the automobile world and it truly recognise the deserving candidates in the industry in terms of their achievements, campaigns and strong support behind them.

The award event will also include an exciting title as ‘Viewers Choice Award’ which will be given to the most popular car of the year. Three lucky viewers will also get a chance to win these classy automobiles.  

The jury will make the selection on the basis of the segment position, environment factor, acceptability, market value, effeciency, the consumer value and segment position. The variables will thus support facelifts and best performance car models.  

Among the nominees of small cars comes the all famous Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Maruti Wagon R, Chevrolet Beat and Ford Figo whereas the premium hatchback nominees are Nissan Micra and Volkswagen Polo. The compact Sedan is Volkswagen Vento while sub compact sedan will be newly launched Toyota Etios.
