Volkswagen finally brings in the 2014 Polo refresh, touted to be the safest premium hatch in the country with standard front dual airbag across and ABS that starts from the second variant onwards. As the whole world is shouting 'Germany. Germany' after their 2014 FIFA world cup victory, lets see if this updated German hatch has the guts to defeat its rivals!
Exteriors
The Polo facelift gets subtle changes externally; at the front the vehicle gets new dual barrel headlamps, refreshed bumper featuring new fog lamps with cornering lights and tweaked grille. The side profile is kept intact but sports a new set of 15-inch 'TOSA' twin-spoke alloys. The rear profile gets restyled taillamps and tweaked bumper with reflectors. The new Polo also gets a new shade – Copper Orange. Take the test drive of the new Polo at your nearest Volkswagen dealership.
The Swift and i20 on the other hand are due for their replacement later this year, but still offer decent competition to its rivals. While i20 flaunts the Fluidic design scheme of Hyundai with trendy day-time-running-lights, the Swift still entices the folks with it's looks, brand value, low maintenance and unmatched performance.
Speaking of the Italian rival, Fiat seems to be getting things right this time. The leaked spy-shots reveals that Punto gets a new name 'Punto EVO' with radical changes. The front is borrowed from the Avventura crossover concept with new swept back headlamps, inverted trapezoidal grille and new bumper. The leaked image showcased that the car rides on 16-inch radical. About the rear profile, it sports LED taillamps and tweaked bumper with a heavy chrome inserts.
