Honda Civic was discontinued in India a few years back and is due for a re-launch!
The Japanese automaker revealed the 10th generation Civic in its Asian avatar, today. It will be launched in most of the Asian markets this year. Meanwhile, Honda India is on a re-launching spree, first with the re-entry of Jazz hatchback, post its brief discontinuation. Now, the Accord is also coming back! The possibilities of Civic revival are extremely high since the automaker has no offering in between the hot selling City and the upcoming Accord. In addition to this, Civic has a respectable fan following within the country and by adding a diesel option, it can up the figures for the automaker.
Speaking of the new Civic, it is the most brutal and muscular Civic - Honda has ever made, since its fastback design (sharply raked roofline)! Being a fastback, Honda debuted this sedan in America last year. Speaking of it characteristics, unlike its American version which features full-LED headlamps, the Asean spec gets LED projectors with daytime running LEDs. However, the taillamps are similar and are so are the LEDs. The interiors are also almost similar and offer 7-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Mechanically, if Honda launches it in India, it will have the naturally aspirated 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol. It is expected that if we get the new Civic sedan, diesel will be on the option list and it will probably be the 1.6-litre i-DTEC. We might also get the new 1.5-litre turbo VTEC, which Honda is debuting for the first time in the 10th generation Civic worldwide.
