New Ford Fiesta may be launched by 2011

Ford Motors, US based one of world's largest car maker, is expected to launch a new Ford Fiesta variant by year 2011. Company showcased two new Ford Fiesta cars at the Bangkok International Motor Show last month. The new Ford Fiesta car will be sold in Indian and Chinese market. It is expected that the new Ford Fiesta model will possibly be launched in both diesel and petrol variants, to compete with popular cars in India in this segment like Fiat Linea, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti SX4. However, there is no confirmation from the company's side regarding the this launch of these models.

The new Ford Fiesta will be equipped with a fuel efficient dual-clutch and a six-speed Power-Shift technology which provides smoother shifting and an improved fuel economy. Various types of ultra- and high-strength steel has been used in body of this new car, which makes it one of the safest cars in its segment.

Right now company is focusing only on Figo, which is expected to be the game-changing model for the company. The company will not restrict our self with only one model and may global models are expected to add to the company’s pipeline. As far as the new Fiesta models (both hatchback and sedan versions) are concerned, company is not ruling out its possibility. This is primarily because, India, China and Brazil are emerging markets for us and every new model is important for company in the long run, Mr Michael Boneham, president of Ford India,in a statement given to a media group.
