Now there’s one more reason to pick the diesel-manual Amaze. Read on to find out
Honda has launched the second-generation Amaze in India with prices starting from Rs 5.6 lakh (ex-showroom). For prices of other variants and feature details click here. The Amaze can be booked at all Honda dealerships now for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The compact sedan now looks more proportionate and distinctive than the first-gen model. It is based on a new platform which makes its structure stronger and also leaves more space inside the cabin. You can read our first drive report of the second-gen Amaze to know about it in detail.
If you’re planning to buy the new Amaze, you’ll be happy to know that Honda will offer a 3-year/unlimited kilometre warranty on it. Here’s how it fares against the competition.

The 2018 Amaze is being offered with a 3-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, which isn’t offered in any other car in the segment. The only other car in this segment that comes with a 3 year warranty is the Hyundai Xcent, but that’s also capped at 1 lakh kilometres. All other cars get a warranty cover of just 2 years. Surprisingly, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which happens to be the best-selling car in its segment, gets a warranty cover of just 40,000 kilometres!

On top of the standard warranty, car manufacturers generally offer extended warranty for an additional sum on all their cars. But a high-mileage and long-duration standard warranty shows how confident a carmaker is about its product.
While such a warranty is beneficial for all buyers, it can be particularly useful for those who cover a fair amount of distance everyday. In our video review of the new Amaze, we have pointed out how the top variant of the diesel-powered Amaze equipped with a manual transmission is a clear winner and we wouldn’t even mind paying a slight premium for it over its rivals that offer a similar setup in their top variants. A high-mileage or long-duration warranty on the Amaze should then seal the deal for those planning to go for the diesel-manual combination.
