New Honda compact Beat Roadster in the works

Honda Motors is now planning to launch its new Honda Roadster in the international market. This new car will be manufactured on the same base as the Honda Beat Roadster of the 90's combined with best of Honda's car and motorcycle technologies.

The 1995 Honda Beat Roadster had 3-cylinder engine with 656 cm³ and a maximum torque of 63 hp @ 8100 rpm and 5-speed manual transmission system and Mid-engine with rear wheel drive. This was a light weight roadster with 4 valve per cylinder that were able to deliver the max power of 63 hp.

This two seater roadster will be on the same platform as the CR-Z hybrid but with smaller size and front wheel drive. This new car will be available with a little power engine, maybe a 1.3L or a 1.5L petrol i-VTEC. This new car will be first launched in the Auto markets of Europe and Asia. The new Honda Roaster also features start-stop button, key-less entry and other latest technologies.

This new Honda Beat Roadster is placed in the price band of Rs. 9 lakh. As for now, Honda Siel Cars India comprises of Honda cars namely, Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Honda City, Honda Jazz and Honda CR-V. The company after launching the petrol variants is now looking forward to launch the diesel variants of some of the models. The company has also declared that the Honda Civic Diesel and Honda Accord Diesel will be available in the Indian market by 2012. The diesel variant of Honda Accord is priced between Rs. 20-25 lakh, however the diesel avatar of Honda Civic is expected to be priced above its petrol variant that is above Rs. 15 lakh.Honda CR-V and Honda City are the most successful cars by Honda till today.
