And here comes a fresh set of spy pictures of the next-generation Hyundai i10, which is likely to launch in India by the third or fourth quarter this year. The pictures were caught by a Team-BHPian Pardus who spotted the car during a test run somewhere on the Bangalore-Mysore road. There were a total three i10s and one next-generation Santa Fe SUV. However, there were no badges or stickers proving the caught i10 to a diesel engine powered version, the company has plans to launch a diesel version in India. The new Hyundai i10 will replace the existing version of the car.
Ever since the launch of Hyundai i10, it has been one of the top selling Hyundai cars in India, but things have started changing when the diesel hatches started taking momentum. Its closest rivals Maruti Ritz and Swift are individually selling double units than the i10, so this has now become a necessity for Hyundai to bring its flagship vehicle in diesel avatar. What makes the next-generation i10 more desirable is the fact that it will now come in a new design inspired from the company's patented Fluidic sculpture.
The next-generation Hyundai i10 will be a new global vehicle to be launched in several markets including our's. As per the word on the street, the new Hyundai i10 will also get a new name 'Brilliant', dropping the i10, which has already earned so much popularity. Speculated to debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year, the new Hyundai i10 is likely to hit the Indian shores during the festive season.
Based on an entirely new platform, the next-generation i10 will have both the petrol and diesel engine options in India; while the petrol motor will be the same 1.2-litre Kappa2 engine used in the current generation, the diesel is likely to be a new 1.1-litre mill, which has been said to the company's smallest diesel unit. Inside the cabin as well, the all new i10 will feature better quality interiors. The car will also have a larger front air dam, bigger grille, updated general lines, more sloping roof, new Fog lamps with LED stripe above making the front more contemporary and family like.
