New Maruti Swift hatchback ropes in 25k bookings prior to its launch?

Maruti India which is soon going to launch its most awaited hatchback new Maruti Swift on 17 Aug, 2011 has apparently received 25,000 bookings. The predecessor of the car also got an overwhelming response and was among the most successful hatchbacks in the country, the same is expected with the new Swift 2011. Maruti Swift 2011 will incorporate the same pair of engines with new technologies, the Swift 2011 is likely to be equipped with totally new features, will have more space and a better design.

The car was earlier supposed to be launched in the month of July but due to some unexpected circumstances the launch of this car got delayed. The Maruti Swift 2011 has got a new exterior with stretched headlamps and tail laights, the bumper is also long and the position of the number plate has also got changed, the rear of the car has also got some changes in it. The design of the rear mirror and the indicators have also got changed.

The interiors of the hatchbakc are also a bit different than the previous one, the dashboard is totally changed with grey colour to match the style of the car. The steering is mounted with audio controls on it to allow the driver to easily access the music system, a multi-information display behind the tachometer and the speedometer. This new Swift model is likely to have 15-inch alloys and a new ten spoke pattern, the hatchback is a bit higher than its antecedent which provides some more space. The car is likely to have a 1.2 litre petrol engine in VVT (variable Valve Timing) that could churn out a power of 84 bhp and the diesel variant will be affixed with a 1.3 litres multi-jet engine.
