New Mercedes-Benz E-250 Classic launched in India

Mercedes Benz India, country's largest luxury car maker,  launched its new E-250 CDI Classic sedan, a stripped down version of its E250 CDI Elegance saloon, today. The launch of  new  E-250 CDI Classic can be seen as an addition to the league of stripped down versions of Mercedes cars in India, as just a fortnight ago the company launched an Executive Edition of its Benz C-Class. The new E-250 CDI Classic will be available at an on-road price of Rs 46.18 lakh in Mumbai.

A number of features are missing in the new E-250 CDI Classic as the company has launched it as its base diesel model in India. Features like sliding sunroof, bi-Xenon headlamps, LED driving lamps and daytime running headlamps are missing in the new model when compared to the existing higher trim variant of this E-Class.

The new E-250 CDI Classic is equipped with a newly designed interior, which is decorated with the Classic gets Eucalyptus wood trim, traditional gear lever instead of gear selector stalk for its 5-speed auto box, and gray color interiors. The paddle shifters are missing, same as in the Elegance model. It has been powered with the same four-in line, 2143cc engine, with a maximum power of 201bhp along with a torque of 51kgm. The tyres are 16 inch and come with a more somber looking 9 spoke alloy wheels.

The new E-250 CDI Classic is cheaper by Rs 2.33lakh, compared to the price of existing E250 CDI Elegance model.
