The latest iteration of the Range Rover Velar luxury SUV has made its way to our shores with customer deliveries to start today. It already has an order book of over 750 units, with the wait time extending well beyond a year. The MY2024 Velar is being offered in a single, highly equipped Dynamic HSE variant in India with prices starting from Rs 94.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
Here’s everything you should know about the new Range Rover Velar:
Sleek Design Changes
The Velar is already the most chic SUV in the Range Rover lineup, combining the status of the flagship Range Rover with a hint of sportiness thanks to that flowing design. The refreshed exterior sports changes to the bumpers, a new grille to match the styling of the rest of the updated Range Rover family, and new quad-piece pixel LED headlights. As standard, it gets 20-inch alloy wheels.
It is being offered in four main hues - Zadar Grey, Varesine Blue, Fuji White, and Santorini Black.
Reductive Interior
Essentially design-speak for ‘simplification’ in the cabin of the new Range Rover Velar, this is the biggest change for the facelifted SUV. It now sports a new dashboard layout starring a new 11.4-inch curved touchscreen display. The secondary screen is replaced by a flowing wood-finish veneer central console and console tunnel for a seamless look.
It is available in two main colourways - Caraway and Deep Garnet.

Features Aplenty
Being a Range Rover, the new Velar comes highly equipped in terms of technology and comfort. The new 11.4-inch central screen with the Divi Pro infotainment system controls everything from infotainment to climate control with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is now also a wireless charging pad that can be accessed by opening the panel on the central console. It still gets a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display for easy access to a lot of vehicular information.
For comfort, it offers 20-way massage functions for the heated and ventilated front seats. Both front and rear seats are power adjustable and finished in Windsor leather upholstery, a fixed panoramic roof, four-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Meridian sound system, and a powered tailgate. The new Velar also sports an improved version of the built-in cabin air purifier system.
Another set of features key for a Range Rover include the electronic air suspension with adaptive dynamics for a smooth ride on any terrain, combined with wading depth of 580mm and off-road driving modes using the Terrain Response system. The 360-degree camera is helpful both in urban and adventure scenarios.
Choice Of Powertrains
The facelifted Range Rover Velar is only available in one variant, but gets two engine options - the 2-litre turbo-petrol (250PS) and 2-litre diesel (204PS). It gets all-wheel-drive as standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and mild-hybrid tech for improved fuel efficiency.
Rivals
The refreshed Range Rover Velar continues to rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5, Audi Q7, and Volvo XC90.
