We constantly informing you about the Maruti Suzuki plans for the Indian car market, which includes a new compact hatch (Codenamed YL7), SX4 successor, a compact SUV and few others. It is expected that the company will unveil the compact hatch and a new sedan at the next year's Indian Auto Expo. Meanwhile, Suzuki Motor Corporation has unveiled the A-segment hatchback concept, the A-Wind at the 2013 Thailand Motor Expo.
The production version of the hatchback is expected to be showcased at the 2014 Indian Expo, which we believe is the perfect platform to introduce a new product in the market. The new hatch will replace the A-Star in India. The concept hatch measures 3600mm x 1600mm x 1540mm (length x width x height) and has got a 2425mm of wheelbase. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels with 185/55 R16 tyres. The A-Wind is powered by a 996cc 3-cylinder petrol motor. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a CVT gearbox.
According to the company, the concept model features an elegant looking exterior and interior, spacious and user friendly cabin, and excellent fuel economy. The A-Wind concept is painted in a striking Energy Yellow colour. The front grille has two-chrome bars stretching inside the headlights. Side profile of the concept looks elegant and features a prominent crease which flows all the way from rear doors to the front fenders.
The dual-tone interior looks simple and functional. To create a more comfortable cabin, the distance between the front and rear seating has been extended, door openings are wide, and the seats are easy to get in and out of; plus the A-Wind offers class-leading luggage space. It also features a touch-screen display, leather wrapped steering wheels and gearknobs.
