New Toyota Camry likely to hit Indian shores by 2012

The Japanese auto giant yesterday had a grand day, the company forayed into the small car segment in the rapidly growing Indian auto market. The compact hatchback is priced smartly, the Toyota Etios Liva price ranges between Rs3.99 lakh to Rs5.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company official proclaimed that Toyota India seeks a strong position in Indian auto market and plans to launch some more small cars and a compact SUV in India. Apart from these new models the company is apparently thinking to launch the retouched version of Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner. And if the rumors are to be believed the company is contemplating launch of new Toyota Camry premium sedan car by next year in India.

The premium sedan car is available in India at a starting price of Rs 21,58,220 which ranged upto Rs 23,73,170 (ex-showroom Delhi). Toyota India plans to include a variety of cars under its portfolio to lure the India customers, this could be a meticulous effort by the Japanese auto biggie to maintain its position in the India auto market. Toyota India launched its popular sedan Toyota Etios last year in the month of December and received an overwhelming response for it. The sedan has given a tough competition to other sedan cars in India like Maruti Swift Dzire,Hyundai Accent and the likes. Toyota India, by pricing the Toyota Etios sedan competitively have been successful in carving a niche for itself in the sedan car segment. The company hopes to create a hysteria by adopting the same strategy by pricing its compact sporty hatchback competitively.
