New version of Hyundai i20 to be launched in India

Hyundai India is working on the plans of launching updated Hyundai Santro Xing and i20 models in India. Company will launch the i20 diesel for the domestic market this year, but the engine size is yet to be finalize, said Arvind Saxena, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales department of Hyundai Motor India.
At present, the Hyundai i20 model is available in two variants named as, Magna and Asta. This new variant of Hyundai i20 will be placed between Asta and Magna and will be named as, Hyundai i20 Sportz. The new variant will be available with new generation features like remote entry, a driver airbag and turn indicators on the outside mirrors.
The Hyundai i20 is receiving a very good response in Indian market and it is competing with popular cars in India like Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz and Fiat Punto. Besides this, in recent months many new cars in India has been launched in premium hatchback segment including Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo and Volkswagen Polo. Cars like Toyota Etios, Nissan Micra and a small car from Honda are also expected to be added in this segment by this year end.
Hyundai India is also planning to introduce a new GLS variant of Hyundai Santro which will be having features like a new audio system with 4 speakers with USB connectivity. The model will be priced Rs 10,000 more then the existing GLS model.
