Chevrolet revealed the interiors of the all-new 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, the sedan will go on sale in China later this year. Chevrolet showcased the new Cruze at the Beijing Motor Show couple of months ago, while the interiors were under-the-wraps up until now. The sedan gets an all-new body along with all-new interiors and is based on the Tru-140S concept, the company showcased at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show.
Speaking of the interiors, the car continues to carry the 'Dual Cockpit' layout, which GM says is inspired from the American muscles Camaro and Corvette. The interiors upholstered in 'Saddle brown' leather, while the dash gets saddle brown accents apart from all-black dash. The cabin is intensified with saddle brown inserts at door trims and chrome and piano black inserts all-around. It seems to be the top-end Cruze, the cabin speaks of quality, the hand-stitched saddle brown leather makes the sedan upmarket compared to the segment in which Cruze resides.
The central console adorns piano black finish and sports an eight-inch high resolution touch screen infotainment system. The infotainment features Chevy’s latest MyLink II system which further enhances the smartphone integration compared to it previous generation. MyLink II offers built-in Apps plus you can download more from Chevy App store. The system sports voice control for various operation and Bluetooth phone integration for audio streaming.
The 2015 Cruze boosts a new dual pot instrumentation cluster with ice blue black-lit ambient lighting. The car gets a new three-spoke black leather wrapped multi function steering wheel with chrome inserts. The vehicle also features push button engine start-stop.
The 2015 Cruze is slightly larger than the current model plus with better optimization of the structure, the car gets significant improvement in space. Ingressing of cabin slightly further into the engine compartment and simultaneously downsizing the engines helped the engineers to create more space inside the cabin.
The engines to look at in the all-new 2015 chevrolet Cruze is the new 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol motor, the engine churns out 138bhp of max power and 200Nm of peak torque. GM china also offers the car with a naturally-aspirated petrol motor. The sedan will offer wide range of transmission options in China which include 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. As far as India is concerned, if this car comes, it will carry the same 2.0 diesel unit from the current one, while the petrol counterpart is uncertain. The Indian launch can be expected around 2015-2016.
