What’s in the XE?
The new XE variant gets safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD rear parking sensors along with automatic climate control with rear vents, Bluetooth enabled audio system with four speakers, Nissan Connect (telematic services), LED DRLs and front seat armrest.
Additions to XL
At the same time, the previous entry-spec XL variant is now priced at Rs 11.09 lakh and gets more features. The prime additions include the 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, front fog lamps, ECO mode, functional roof rails and steering mounted audio controls.
Additions to XV
Nissan now offers cruise control, push-button start, smart card key, LED projector headlamps, and hill assist from the XV variant onwards. These features were previously available from XV Pre only.
XV Pre takes the top spot
Nissan has also made a change at the top-end of the Kicks’ variant lineup by discontinuing the XV Pre Option. As a result, the XV Pre variant is now the top-spec Kicks and it gets side airbags, a 360-degree around view monitor, leather upholstery, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and more. It is priced at Rs 13.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Kicks engine options
The Kicks SUV is offered with a choice of both diesel and petrol engines. The 1.5-litre diesel unit is paired with a 6-speed manual, producing 110PS of power and 240Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre petrol engine has an output of 106PS and 142Nm while mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Ease of ownership extended
Nissan has also updated its after-sales package and now offers the Kicks SUV with a 5-year warranty and 24x7 roadside assistance. It was previously offered with a 3-year coverage only.
The Kicks also gets two maintenance package options now - Bronze to cover scheduled maintenance and Silver that covers wear and tear (excluding battery and tyres). Nissan says these packages offer savings of up to 30 per cent on regular maintenance costs of the Kicks SUV.
The revised prices and feature packages are likely to help the Nissan Kicks SUV revitalise its position in the compact SUV segment. It rivals with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Renault Duster and the upcoming Kia Seltos.
