The Nissan Magnite will soon be joining one of the most popular SUV spaces in India. While Nissan has already revealed all the specifications and features of the Magnite, it will be announcing its prices on December 2. Bookings are already underway at dealerships as well as online for Rs 11,000. Our dealer sources have now informed us that test drives will begin from the price announcement day itself and deliveries from January 2021.
The Magnite will come in five variants: XE, XL, XV, XV Premium, and XV Premium (O). It will be loaded with a bunch of segment-first features such as a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and JBL sound system. Safety features on offer will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. For a detailed look at the variant-wise features, head here.
Unlike a few of its rivals that feature both petrol and diesel engines, the Magnite will be a petrol-only model. It will be offered with either a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine from the Triber (72PS/96Nm) or a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. While the former will be paired to a 5-speed manual only, the latter will come mated to either a 5-speed MT or CVT. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces up to 100PS and 152Nm with the CVT whereas the torque output of the MT-equipped variants stands at 160Nm. The Magnite will be the only sub-4m SUV to feature a CVT gearbox. Here’s a look at the variant-wise engine-gearbox combo that will be on offer:

The Magnite is expected to be priced between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will face competition from the likes of the Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Ford EcoSport.
