Nissan Micra Diesel pre-order bookings begin

Nissan Motor India Private Ltd has announced the beginning of the booking orders for its diesel variant of Nissan Micra at its twenty dealerships. This Nissan Micra variant, which is diesel powered, is likely to go on sale before 25th Dec, 2010, that is before the occasion of Christmas. In a phased manner which begins on November 8, the dealerships of Nissan all over the country have started taking the booking orders for the diesel variant of Nissan Micra. The company has also launched a multimedia ad campaign (including television, radio, print and digital media) for this activity. Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama, MD & CEO, Nissan Motor India commented that in the domestic market, the success of Nissan Micra’ petrol variant has provided a lot of confidence to the company. The company expects the same success story from the diesel variant which will be introduced within 6 months from the launch of petrol version. He further adds that the company always takes care of its commitment to provide Indian customers with a complete range of products and services. The diesel-powered Nissan Micra will cater to the discerning requirements of the Indian customers.

Abhijeet Pandit, Vice President, Marketing & After Sales, Hover Automotive India said that since the time they introduced the petrol variant in July, they were flooded with enquiries for Nissan Micra Diesel. He further added that they are quite confident for Nissan Micra diesel and they are aggressively increasing their sales and service network. Nissan introduced the petrol variant of Nissan Micra, the global compact hatchback, in July this year itself. Since its sales that started from July 15, 2010, the company has successfully sold about 4500 units of Micra. By introducing the new diesel variant of Nissan Micra, the company will definitely add an important new product in its range of existing successful models.

Nissan Motor India Private Limited is a hundred percent subsidiary of Nissan Motor Limited Japan. NMIPL was incorporated in the year 2005. It follows the vision of ‘Enriching People’s Lives’ with the recent Nissan Technology and products. Chennai acts as the strategic hub for the company in terms of R&D, exports and production. Nissan, with Renault -its global alliance partner, signed a MoU with the Tamil Nadu Government in February 2008. This MoU was signed for setting up a manufacturing plant at Oragadam, near Chennai. This plant has got the initial capacity of 2,00,000 units every year that may reach 4,00,000 units per year in its future complete capacity. The present range of Nissan includes Nissan X-Trail (SUV model), the Nissan Teana (luxury sedan model) and also the Nissan 370Z (sports model). These are imported as CBU (completely built units) from Japan.
