Nissan Micra diesel version how does that sound? Nissan Micra diesel version will be launched soon in the domestic auto market by Nissan Motor. The booking for the hatchback has been started and is anticipated to roll out in December 2010 with an expected price range of Rs Rs 4.5 lakhs. Five months ago the company introduced Nissan Micra, the petrol version which has made a lot of fan following and to further take advantage of the market in its favour the auto company is coming with diesel version of the hatchback. The new baby from the Japanese auto maker, Nissan Micra Diesel will compete with the key player in the market, Maruti Swift diesel version.
The prototype of the hatchback Nissan Micra diesel version was showcased in an auto exhibition in the country. The Nissan Micra Diesel version will be fully equipped with 1.5 litre DCI generating a peak power of 63 bhp and 16.3 kgm of torque. The new diesel hatchback will be loaded with the same engine of Mahindra Logan and the diesel hatchback will be introduced in two versions the Nissan Micra Diesel XV and Nissan Micra XV Premium.

The key rival Maruti Swift diesel version comes with 1.3 litre DDiS powertrain with displacement of 1248 cc. The hatchback from Indian czars is loaded with intercooler and turbocharger which comes with clear emissions and efficient combustion. The diesel version of Maruti Swift is available with a price tag of Rs 4,05,341 to Rs 5,39,928. The diesel hatchback from Maruti India is best known for its fuel efficiency and great performance.
Nissan Micra Diesel version is slightly different than the petrol version with only few changes. The diesel version is little shorter with a height of 1525mm than the petrol version which is 1530mm. The diesel version of Nissan Micra higher model XV Premium will be affixed with 15 inch wheel base and wider tyres of 175/60 R15 over its lower model XV with tyres that measure 165/70 R15.

The hatchback diesel version will be coming with stylish interiors and roomy cabin space. The car is affixed with leather upholstery on the passenger seats, gear and steering wheel. The diesel version rear spoiler will be of body colour which will add appeal to the overall look of the car. However the diesel version will not include few key features such as security alarm, front passenger airbag, ABS, Brake and EBD Assist.
The Maruti Swift is an already established car in the domestic market with the backing of India's most trusted and popular car brand. The Japanese car makers from a long time were looking forward to plunge in the diesel hatchback segment. India has a huge potential market for diesel cars, Nissan Micra already introduced the petrol version. Lets see who will be able to lure the customers more.
