Japanese automaker Nissan, has Showcased its premium X-Trail Hybrid SUV at the ongoing 2016 Indian Auto Expo, which is being held at the Greater Noida region. The car will be filling in the space left by its previous generation, which was introduced in 2004 and later discontinued in the year 2014, post a remarkable decade long run. The reason, like it always is with most of the discontinued models, was unsatisfactory sales.
The Indian X-Trail Hybrid features a 2.0-litre MR20 DD petrol motor, which comes coupled to a 40.8PS electric motor - that provides this SUV with a combined output of an impressive 184bhp of power and 367Nm of peak torque. The powerplant comes mated to a CVT gearbox.
Aesthetically, the all-new X-Trail gets a complete overhaul. Up front, one can easily spot the ‘V-Motion’ grille, which is placed right between the all-new slim headlamp clusters. The headlamps also encases LED DRLs and the top-end variant flaunt all-LED headlights.
As far as features are concerned, the 2016 X-Trail gets Active Ride Control and Auto Headlights, amongst others. Features exclusive to the top-of-the-range models will include - heated door mirrors, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, push-button start, electrically adjustable front leather seats, automatic wipers, cruise control and others. The SUV treads on 18-inch alloys and thanks to these hoard of features along with its competitive pricing, this particular offering by Nissan will surely give Honda CR-V a run for its money.
