Maruti’s Nexa lineup has just grown in number with the eighth member in the form of the Maruti Invicto. The Invicto is essentially a Toyota Innova Hycross underneath with some changes in its design and features list. At the time of launch, the carmaker revealed that its new flagship model had garnered 6,200 pre-launch orders till its price announcement.

Variants And Seating Configuration

Maruti is offering the Invicto in only two variants: Zeta+ and Alpha+, with just the former available in both 7- and 8-seater layouts. Unlike the Toyota MPV it’s based on, the Maruti MPV doesn’t come with the ottoman functionality for the middle-row captain seats offered in the 7-seater version.

The Invicto has been provided with equipment such as ventilated front seats, a 10-inch touchscreen, and a panoramic sunroof. Maruti is also offering it with an 8-way power adjustable driver seat with memory function, dual-zone climate control, and a powered tailgate, all of which are first-timers for a Maruti car.

Occupant safety is taken care of by six airbags, a 360-degree camera setup, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and front and rear parking sensors.

Hybrid Powertrain Only

Maruti Invicto hybrid powertrain

One of the major differences between the Maruti and Toyota MPVs is that the Invicto is provided only with the Innova Hycross’ 186PS (combined) 2-litre strong-hybrid powertrain, mated to an e-CVT gearbox. It offers a claimed mileage of 23.24kmpl.

Prices And Competition

Maruti has priced the Invicto between Rs 24.79 lakh and Rs 28.42 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Its only direct rival is the Toyota Innova Hycross, and it’s also being positioned as a premium alternative to the Kia Carens.
