Paris Motor Show 2012 Witness the New Opel/ Vauxhall Adam

The new Opel or Vauxhall as it is known in the British unveiled the new Adam, a 4-seater hatchback against the Fiat 500 and the Mini. The Adam will feature what Opel calls the floating roof which can have a contrasting shade from the body, giving it a distinctive styling. The Adam comes loaded with innumerable equipments and customizations which make it desirable among the premium subcompact market as it would be very unlikely to see two Adams that look just the same.
Adam will launch with three 4-cylinder petrol engines which will be, a 1.2-litre engine delivering 69bhp of power and along with this, there will be two 1.4-litre powertrains that will be capable of producing 86bhp or 98bhp. It is also said that at a later stage there will be a new generation of small petrol engine which will have forced induction and direct injection mated to a 6-speed transmission added to the lineup.
The Electronic stability control will come as a standard. Adam will also flaunt a new infotainment system which will support all new technologies like the connectivity with Apple or Android smartphones etc. The hatchback will come in three trims, Jam – which will flaunt fashionable and colorful features, Glam- which will represent elegance and sophistication and Slam – representing racy and sporty style.
Adam will come with 12 body colors, 20 different wheel designs ranging from 16 to 18inch wheel size and quite a few interior shades as well. The exterior will also have decal packages for sides, roof and door mirrors. One would also get an option personalizing the roof with a starlight headliner which will be 60 LED lights. There will also be an option of choosing between three printed color motifs including clouds, autumn leaves and checker board graphics.
Vauxhall also announced new city car which will carry a price tag of £11,255 (Rs. 9.64 lakh) to £14,000 (Rs. 11.99 lakh) in the UK. As for New Opel/ Vauxhall Adam, the first delivery is scheduled for January 2013 and buyers can place the orders already.
