The petrol car sales have suffered drastically due to the continuous revisions on the petrol prices during this year. However, the car makers have decided to offer lucrative discount especially on the petrol variants to boost their sales during the festive season. The Indian car industry witnesses the maximum growth in sales during the festive season and the car manufacturers are hoping to make the most of it by relying on the consumers’ sentiment.
The Indian car market is swamped with numerous car launches recently with the latest Hyundai EON launch, a step taken by the Korean manufacturer to challenge the biggest rival Maruti Alto in the segment. The Japanese auto major had introduced their cheapest small car, Honda Brio with petrol engine earlier, while another Japanese manufacturer Nissan had launched Nissan Sunny at a competitive price tag.
The interesting part is, despite the falling sales of petrol cars in the country, the car manufacturers have stuck with the petrol driven cars to combat the growing demand for the diesel cars in India. While this is the update on the recent petrol car launches in the country, many auto manufacturers are offering exuberant discounts to give a nudge to their respective petrol car sales apart from the other discounts.
Fiat India is offering discounts on its Fiat Linea sedan and Fiat Punto hatchback ,Honda India has also announced a discount on Honda City, which is offered in a petrol-only variant. Volkswagen apart from offering major discounts on its petrol variant had also introduced limited edition variants on Volkswagen Vento and Volkswagen Polo as ‘Breeze’ edition during the festive season.
