Just few days back, Cardekho reported that Volkswagen will be bringing the 2014 Polo facelift in India on the July 15th. However, this launch will not include the GT variants of the car, and infact, the GT twins (TDI & TSI) are already being shelved out of the Indian market. And now a new report states that the GT variants will reportedly, be introduced in the month of August.

Mechanically, the GT TSI will continue to be served by the same engine under the hood, where as the GT TDi will rope in a new diesel motor. The Polo GT TSI comes with the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that churns out 105 PS and 175 Nm. This unit comes geared to a 7-Speed Dual-Clutch transmission. While the GT TDI will drop the current 1.6-litre diesel for the new 1.5-litre TDI engine, to get the excise perks. Mated to the same manual gearbox, this new oil-burner unit will be make its debut next month on the facelifted Polo.

Unlike most of the regular facelifts available in the country, the new hatch will offer much more than just a sticker-job, and the biggest change comes in the form of a new 1.5-litre diesel engine. With some minor changes inside-out, the over-all design of the car is almost the same. The exterior changes includes new front bumper with larger black air dam, redesigned head-fog lamps and the front grille getting a single bar of chrome, as compared to the existing model's three.

The side profile of the car is almost identical, while the rear of the car carries some minor tweaks such as refreshed tail-lamps and redesigned bumper. The cabin gives a more premium feel now, as the dash comes with some chrome accents and better detailings. New steering wheel and matte silver detailing on the centre console are the other changes on the inside.
