Porsche India unveils New 911 Targa 4 & 4S

Expanding their current portfolio Porsche India has uncovered the latest generation 911 Targa 4 and 4s in the country. The starting price for 911 Targa 4 is Rs 15,900,000 while 911 Targa 4S comes at Rs 17,850,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi). These same models are a bit cheaper in the financial capital (Mumbai) as the standard Targa 4 is priced at Rs 15,610,000 and Rs 17,525,000 for Targa 4 S (ex-showroom).

With coupe and convertible body styles already available for sale in the country, the iconic Targa will boost 911 heritage to an entirely new level. The new 911 Targa features a classic but a unique exterior design that provides a wide bar in place of B-pillars with a movable roof section above the front seats along with a wraparound rear window with no C – pillar. Fitted with a fully automatic roof system, the roof of this sports oriented machine can be opened and closed at the touch of a button within 19 seconds. To add more, for identification its rear wheel arches are widened by an additional 22 mm with rear tyres having an additional width of 10mm.
Fitted with Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive system as standard, the Targa range comprises of flat V6 petrol engines. Therefore Targa 4 features a 3.4 litre engine which churns out 350 bhp of power. Available with an optional Sport Chrono package, 911 Targa 4 can accelerate from 0 – 100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 282 kmph. The more powerful 911 Targa 4S on the other hand caters to a bigger 3.8 litre V6 engine that contributes to 400 bhp. It has a top speed of 296 kmph and when clubbed with the optional Sport Chrono package can accelerate from 0 – 100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds. For an additional 30 bhp, a customer could also opt for the Carrera S Powerkit that helps in extracting more power from this 3.8 litre unit. Both these variants are propelled through an automatic 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) as standard fitment.
