The 13th edition of the Indian Auto Expo is all set to kick-off in less than a week’s time. The show promises to be bigger and better than ever with a host of manufacturers showcasing their latest and greatest offerings. The list is expansive and ranges from a little Kwid to the massive Mercedes GLS. With so much diversity under one roof, we decided to single out the ones that had the one element that matters the most - POWER!

Ecstasy for the enthusiast is guaranteed - there’s everything from a hot hatch right upto a proper supercar. Let’s take a quick look at cars that pack a punch!

Polo GTI

Volkswagen is all set to showcase the Polo GTI, the big daddy in the Polo range. The GTI packs a 1.8 litre, turbocharged engine under the hood. Volkswagen have confirmed that the GTI will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options. Power is rated at 188bhp while peak torque is an impressive 320Nm. The GTI simply ups the ante after Fiat got us the lip-smacking Abarth Punto. The GTI will be a 3-door hatch and get its own set of distinguishing elements like the LED headlamps, massive 17” wheels and a different interior compared to the standard Polos.

BMW M2

The baby M is all set to join its other siblings on Indian showroom floors this year. BMW has been on a launch rampage the past year, bringing in the most mental nutcases from Bavaria. The 3.0 litre, turbo-charged motor develops 370 PS of power and 465 Nm of torque. It also gets an overboost function that bumps up the torque to a whopping 500 Nm! Replacing the rather likeable 1M in BMWs lineup, the M2 promises to be as mental as the other Ms; thanks to its compact proportions and RWD setup!

Ford Mustang

While this car is neither the best looking nor the most powerful car on the list; it certainly strikes a chord like no other. The Pony hasn't been launched and will be showcased at the 2016 AutoExpo. The Mustang is available with a single engine. But that hardly matters since the engine in question is 5.0 naturally aspirated V8 that churns out 435 horses and 524Nm of toruqe. Hair-raising exhaust note comes standard!

Nissan GT-R

The Godzilla shall make its presence felt at the 2016 Auto Expo. Widely considered as the ‘Supercar Slayer’, the R35 GTR appeals to a wide base of auto-enthusiasts. The 3.8 litre, Twin Turbo charged V6 packs 542 bhp and a shattering 612 Nm of torque. Amongst the fastest cars in the world, the GT-R can clock a 0-100 time in a mere 2.7 seconds.

Audi R8 V10

The second iteration of Audi’s performance flagship - the R8 will be showcased at the Expo as well. The new generation was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, last year. The R8 now packs an aggressive design, laser headlamps and not to mention, a 5.2 litre NA V10 motor. The Lamborghini-derived V10 packs a whopping 610 horses and 560Nm of torque in the V10+ spec. The ‘standard’ version gets an equally jaw-dropping 540 horses/540Nm combo.

A power-packed week for the enthusiasts, that's for sure! Stay tuned to CarDekho for a minute-by-minute update on the 2016 AutoExpo.
